I observed how Mr. My view of teaching was radically changed from this semester, and now I am more excited than ever to teach social studies in high school one day. I love the idea of using real life experiences based off of the demographics of the students to teach concepts. Also because a teacher must remain assertive and in control when students choose to act out and to damage things that do not belong to them so that the students know who is in charge of the classroom.

During my field experience the instructional skills that I developed were asking the students questions while reading a story to them that has to do with the lesson so that they will remember the story better.
I improved a vast amount from my first lecture to the second in my ability to effectively communicate to the students. The instructional skills that I wish to develop in Block II Field Experience that would better prepare me for my internship and full-time teaching would be how to notice if a lesson is not going as though it was planned and being able to make the necessary changes on the spot.
I gained valuable experience from this by being able to see how teachers work together as a unit for the good of their students to give them the best education possible within the resources provided.
Even though I already knew that not all students learn the in the same manner as the next student I really noticed this when I went to a Special Education class for half a day. I believe this was a great way to have the students read through the information that would be covered in class and have a foundation of the fundamental concepts which would be taught.
My field experience at Buckeye Local was an exciting and fruitful experience filled with learning. This was a great time for students to ask any questions they may have had on the material. Long would use concepts that they understood to explain concepts in American History.

This is a quality that I would most definitely like to develop for myself as I continue to progress through my college education. Additionally, many students were able to gain valuable participation points by taking notes and engaging in class discussion. Also, once every three weeks the social studies teachers would all meet together during second period to discuss department goals and how these goals would be achieved.
Lastly, students took this time to gain understanding and think critically about the lessons in American History that would apply to their everyday lives.
